INTERESTED IN THE BENEFITS OF RUNNING FOR MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT?
RUN TALK RUN IS LOOKING FOR LEADERS!
Thorlos are proud to be supporting RUN TALK RUN in their mission to increase global accessibility to mental health support.
Who are they?
Jess Robson founded Run Talk Run in 2017 on the back of her experiences with depression and bulimia. Having struggled with therapy in a more professional setting, she looked for a space to open up that would be less intimidating.
Running was the perfect outlet for Jess to share some of her heavier/darker thoughts and so she decided to open up that space to strangers, too. The journey started on a Thursday evening by Monument Station (Central London) where Jess gathered a small group of runners for a gentle 5km and chat about mental health.
Fast forward 3 years, Run Talk Runs are now being hosted in over 100 locations worldwide.
What do they do?
RUN TALK RUN meets every week at the same time, same location, for a gentle 5km. The participants are reminded that we are here to provide peer support for one another, and that this is not a competitive run. Find out more about the impact on the community.
The Run Talk Run Values
They do not care about pace
Connection and support over competition and judgment
Run as slow as the slowest runner
COULD YOU LEAD A RUN TALK RUN?
Run Talk Run are looking to increase accessibility to mental health support through their weekly 5km jogs but they need people just like you to help host these spaces!
You do not need to be a therapist
You do not need to be a running coach
You do not need to be able to run a certain ‘pace’
You must simply be a fan of running and supporting your peers, and able to commit to hosting a weekly run.
